Location: Fully Remote, but strictly UK only
Closes: 1st March 2025
About the Role
We are looking for a talented and technically proficient Sound Designer to bring engaging audio experiences to our VR project. This role requires expertise in Unity and some familiarity with C# scripting for audio implementation. You will be working without middleware solutions such as Wwise or FMOD, relying solely on Unity’s built-in audio systems.

Key Responsibilities
● Sound Design & Integration: Create, edit, and implement custom sound effects directly into Unity’s audio system, ensuring high-quality output that complements gameplay.
● Trigger Management: Collaborate with programmers to create and refine triggers for audio events or take the initiative to implement these triggers yourself where required.
● Optimization & Testing: Optimize sound assets for performance and conduct rigorous testing to ensure functionality across multiple platforms, including VR.
● Unity Scripting: Use basic C# scripting to trigger and manage audio events, adjust audio mixing, and set up dynamic sound systems.
● Collaboration: Work closely with the development team to ensure audio integrates seamlessly into the overall game design.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
● Proficiency in Unity’s audio systems, including Audio Sources, Audio Mixers, spatial audio, and effects.

● Knowledge of C# scripting for event triggers and sound management.
● Ability to work without middleware software like Wwise or FMOD.
● Strong portfolio showcasing sound design for games or interactive media.
● Effective collaboration skills with programmers and other team members.
● Willingness to create and manage audio triggers directly when needed.
Desirable Skills:
● Knowledge of adaptive sound design and dynamic audio systems.
● Understanding of performance optimization for audio in Unity.
